Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

ClipStash is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your clipboard data is personal and should stay on your device.

App Data Collection

The ClipStash app does not collect any data. ClipStash operates entirely on your Mac with no network connections, no analytics, no tracking, and no telemetry.

Website Analytics

The ClipStash website records basic page view and download events so we can understand site traffic and app downloads. These events may include the page path, download file name, browser user agent, referrer, approximate region from Vercel request headers, and timestamp.

Website analytics never include your clipboard content or app data. The app does not send telemetry to us.

ClipStash stores your encrypted clipboard history locally on your Mac in the following location:

This data:

Permissions

ClipStash requires the following macOS permissions to function:

We do not use these permissions to monitor your activity, capture keystrokes, or access any data beyond what's necessary for clipboard management.

Third-Party Services

The ClipStash app does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics tools. The app is completely self-contained. The ClipStash website is hosted on Vercel, which processes website requests and download events.

Data Security

Your clipboard history is encrypted before it is written to disk. The encryption key is stored in macOS Keychain and marked as available only on the current device while unlocked.

Sensitive Data: Be aware that ClipStash stores text you copy, which may include passwords or sensitive information. We recommend:

Children's Privacy

ClipStash does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or our website.

Summary

Your data stays on your Mac. We can't see it. We don't want to see it. That's the whole point.
